Dumfries and Galloway LEADER Evaluation

February 2014

A review of the current Dumfries and Galloway LEADER Programme 2008-13:

  • an assessment of the delivery of the current programme to identify:

    • examples of good practice

    • key areas of success, challenges in programme delivery and how they are overcome

    • how challenges have not been overcome and why

    • the impact/difference LEADER funded projects have made

    • reasons for success across themes/geographical area

  • an assessment of the wider EU and national policy context within which Dumfries and Galloway LEADER operates

  • an assessment of LEADER’s strategic fit with key regional strategies and the Community Planning Partnership

  • a commentary on how LEADER can link most effectively with other EU and national funding streams

  • a shortlist of draft priorities for the Dumfries and Galloway LEADER 2014-2020 programme based on the findings of the preceding elements of this commission.

  • an identification of potential LEADER/Local Action Group structures for the delivery of the LEADER 2014-2020 programme in Dumfries and Galloway e.g. use of:

  • Strategic Local Action Group

  • Thematic Local Action Groups
