The 2013 summer school took place on the beautiful island of Hvar.
Tutors included Catalys associates Graham Waddell, Ian Baker and Sanela Klarić; and we joined by Bob Hancké who gave us the benefit of his internationally renowned expertise in European economic affairs and discuss the implications for local development.

The summer school took place at a time of economic crisis, and the question was whether this would make it more or less likely that local developments will receive funding and should its implications be factored into local project design?  These are questions that could make the difference between success and failure and we are sure will be the subject of heated debate.

The course was well attended, with over 50 participants from across the Balkans. The Croatian contingent being buoyed by their accession to the EU.
