The aim of this project was to work collaboratively with transition Shropshire LEADER groups to develop a Local Development Strategy that ensures 100% rural coverage of Shropshire. There are areas of Shropshire that have never been covered by LEADER before and so a detailed consultation in these areas is necessary to ensure a representative and relevant LDS that effectively delivers an economically focused LEADER programme.

The project delivered and LDS through an extensive process of options development and determination, based on the priorities identified in the evidence base analysis and tested through the consultation process.

A key output of the project was to form a Shadow Local Area Group of key individuals who are representative of the area and are committed to the development of a forward looking LEADER programme.
